Downs...

5. Burning Through Challengers

One day ago, this column praised Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross for defending their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships less than a week after winning them.

Monday, they defended them again, this time against the Kabuki Warriors. And then, Bliss & Cross defeated them cleanly, thwarting the only other established, serious threat on the main roster.

It was understandable that the IIconics lost their rematch at SummerSlam, but the next logical step would have been to identify their next challengers and work toward a title match. Instead, we got a title match (yay!) against Asuka & Kairi Sane (why?), and the champs beat them (huh?), potentially knocking them off the board for now.

Yes, we know the roster is limited, but it just felt dumb to knock off probably your top competition in your first match as champs. Defend the titles, yes, but this would have been a chance to pair up any of the following: Dana Brooke, Alicia Fox, Sarah Logan or Naomi.
