What a topsy-turvy 24 hours for WWE.

After SummerSlam ended Sunday night, Finn Balor was sitting on top of the world as the new (and inaugural) WWE Universal Champion, Sasha Banks was the just-defeated WWE Women’s Champion who, barring injury, was next in line for a title shot, and Brock Lesnar’s bloody mauling of Randy Orton was the lasting image as the PPV ended.

Fast-forward to Monday night, and we had no Universal Champion, a new top contender for the Women’s Championship, and only a vague reference to the Beast facing the music for his actions. That’s not to say that positives can’t come out of all these changes in plans (see: Bayley), but things certainly got shaken up between SummerSlam and Raw.

We also learned that the most decorated tag team in WWE planned to say goodbye – and then left us with more question marks. We saw plans to crown a new Universal Champion move ahead, with a title match coming next week. And we saw Byron Saxton do something positive (even if it was only for a fleeting moment).

So what fought its way into a title match and what got Buckle Bombed onto the injured list? Let’s get to it…
