6. Bowling Shoe Mode
Jim Ross used to have a phrase to describe a disaster of a match: bowling shoe ugly. It was obvious when JR said this that the match was just horrendous.
We got a match that fit the bill Monday night, with Ronda Rousey and the Bella Twins facing the Riott Squad. Brie in particular looked bad, barely making it over for a snapmare and a hiptoss from Sarah Logan. (It was so bad, it was reminiscent of Tough Enough with the trainers yelling at the contestants and threatening to throw them out of the competition.)
The match itself didn’t have any real flow either, just meandered along. Even the end was herky-jerky, with Rousey having to wait to apply the armbar until the rest of the Riott Squad could try to run in and the Bellas could make the saves.
In the end, the bout was a vehicle for the post-match angle, but still, it wasn’t a good-looking match.
