8 WWE Superstars Who Could Run For U.S. President

Mr. America is surprisingly not on this list.

It's not too common that the worlds of politics and professional wrestling collide, but it always causes a stir when they do. As the United States gears up for another long Presidential election cycle, one WWE Hall of Famer finds himself atop many of the polls.

Donald Trump is a man who's conquered big business as well as reality TV. In 2007, he also conquered the WWE as he took on Vince McMahon in the "Battle of the Billionaires." Trump beat McMahon (well, Bobby Lashley beat Umaga) at that event and would later go on to be inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame.

Pro-wrestling might be a side gig for the real estate mogul but he now has very real aspirations to win the Republican Primary on his path towards the office of Presidency. Love him or hate him, he sort of has a shot.

Looking further into the wrestling world, there are many others that might fare pretty well at the White House. In this article, 8 people affiliated with WWE will be analyzed in regards to their chances at the Presidency. Each one will have their potential platforms speculated on as well as their chances of being elected.

Politics will be discussed, but try not to take this too seriously. This is simply a lighthearted appeal to a way too serious subject.

8. Mick Foley

Mick Foley is a man who’s been a success across many platforms. He’s a multiple time World Champion wrestler, a multiple time best-selling author, and now a comedian. If there’s one thing Americans love, it’s a winner - and Mick Foley wins at quite a lot of things.

What’s His Platform?

Like John McCain to the Republicans in 2008, Foley needs to run on the idea that he’s a Maverick. To fans who follow him on social media, it’s well known that he’s an honest guy who is more than willing to disagree with his own camp when he feels that they are under-performing. It doesn’t make him the most popular guy at the company picnic, but to the fans, he’s their voice.

Additionally, he'd probably use Executive Orders to extend Christmas to at least a five day national holiday. Who wouldn't love that?

Is He Electable?

It’s hard to imagine that he’d make it out of the primary without being a full-on team player for his party, but the best Maverick example, John McCain, did prove it was possible. He’ll need to still be unafraid to speak his mind to keep the support of his base but also remember to pick his battles so the ones most able to make the donations still feel like he’s worth their investment.
