Titles have to change hands at some point, we get it, but the modern era has brought about a hurried rush to switch belts without much rhyme or reason. For example, why did Zack Ryder win the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 32, only to drop it to The Miz just 24 hours later?

This isn't an isolated example, although other brief title reigns were at least given the chance to have at least one corking match before the rug was pulled. Ryder didn't get that luxury, and his IC stint was over before it really got started.

Unlike Zack's sorry situation, sometimes such blink and you'll miss them title runs do produce hidden gems or sleeper hits that are a lot of fun to look back on. If nothing else, these are the moments that justified otherwise criminally short reigns.
