9 Best Martial Artists Turned Wrestlers

Wrestlers who hands and feet should be registered as lethal weapons.

For the most part, martial arts gimmicks don't really work in the world of professional wrestling, unless the performer taking on that gimmick actually has a solid background in one discipline or another. There are exceptions, of course. Guys like Ricky Steamboat and X-Pac went on to great success in the industry while heavily incorporating elements of hand-to-hand combat into their characters. But what they may have lacked in technical discipline, they made up for with panache and pure athleticism. On the other end of the spectrum, not every wrestler with a martial arts background actually uses it once they step into the ring. In fact, you may be surprised at the number of WWE Superstars who had major martial arts experience prior to their in-ring debut. So let's dig through the roster and see whose hands should be registered as lethal weapons.
