9 Moments That Will Define CM Punk's WWE Career

Briefcases, pipe bombs and record-breaking reigns.

I guess we should accept it now, right? CM Punk is not going to be returning to World Wrestling Entertainment. Whenever a big name leaves there usually is an element of bridge burning, but with Punk it would seem that the entire city and surrounding areas are engulfed in flames, embers visible from space. This means that we can look back at Phil Brooks' time in WWE in definite terms, in the past tense with the whole thing sprinkled with nostalgia. It was a storied time, but only the most jaded would look at Punk's WWE career and call it anything less than a resounding success. Much like Daniel Bryan, he wasn't supposed to succeed, but succeed he did. Punk spent eight years in WWE, winning a host of championships along the way and being involved in some of the most memorable feuds in modern history. No superstar has left the company in such an abrupt manner either. Punk is and always be unique. Anyone who has followed the Straight Edge Superstar's career will have their own thoughts, but here are the nine moments (in chronological order) that I think will come to define his time there.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
