WWE didn’t make the most of the talent at its disposal in 2017, but that talent remains. If anything, WWE has too many incredible professional wrestlers on its books, and it may well have more quality than it knows what to do with.

RAW, SmackDown and NXT are all stacked to the rafters, and the WWE creative team must be the envy of wrestling bookers worldwide. Despite the inconsistent booking in 2017, many of WWE’s most impressive stars are in strong positions moving forward. Kevin Owens, Rusev, Sami Zayn, Hideo Itami and others are destined for new heights in the new year.

No matter how bad WWE’s booking can be, it only takes a cursory glance at the roster to be filled with some sort of hope. A show featuring Luke Harper, Finn Bálor, Samoa Joe and Johnny Gargano can only be so bad.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
