As of this writing, we're less than two weeks away from WWE's Backlash PPV. Well, WrestleMania Backlash, as this year's event is being called.

So often over the years, Backlash has been positioned as the company's post-'Mania event, but in typical WWE fashion, they're now slapping us all around the face with that fact by chucking WrestleMania in front of the Backlash name. Considering that this time of the year usually features a whole slew of rematches from the Showcase of the Immortals, it was always only a matter of time before WWE tweaked this PPV's title once again.

WWE initially presented Backlash between 1999 and 2007 and it was, more often than not, a well-received show. People liked seeing WrestleMania rematches and, sometimes, the Backlash match bettered the one that took place at the Granddaddy of Them All.

Who doesn't love The Rock vs. Triple H from 2000, Edge's 'coming out party' against Kurt Angle in 2002, Randy Orton being taken to the limit by Mick Foley in 2004 or Vince McMahon challenging - and beating - 'God' in 2006? Okay, so maybe not that last one, but Backlash has had its fair share of standout moments and match.

Of course, the show wasn't always such a big hit. In 2003, for example, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter voted it the worst wrestling supercard of the year. If you like useless trivia like that, then you're in the right place, as we're about to tell you nine things you (probably) didn't know about one of WWE's best 'B' shows...
