9 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's Raw (Aug 15)

2. Dawn Of The Demon (King)

As mentioned previously, being predictable can be a good thing. In the situation of Seth Rollins, everyone knew the payoff of his show-long “call-out” of Finn Balor’s Demon King would be the creature making an appearance. But that still didn’t detract from how cool it was.

Rollins searched outside the arena, backstage and even in Stephanie McMahon’s office before Mick Foley suggested he head to the ring to call out the Demon. Rollins took him up on the offer and dropped a couple nice lines: “If I weren’t me, I’d be terrified of me,” and “I am the face of your failure.” And then, Balor showed up in war paint, crawling and stalking to the ring like an animal. The two exchanged blows, with Balor getting the better of it.

Let’s face it: Seeing the Demon entrance on Raw was a pretty cool sight, and it’ll be fun to see him appear at SummerSlam on Sunday. For those who have never watched NXT (and there are plenty of casual WWE fans who haven’t), this gave them a preview of what to expect on Sunday. Mission accomplished.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
