9 Wrestling Moves That Could Legit Kill You

8. Vertebreaker

Repeat after me: Dropping people on their head is a bad idea.

A popular counter to the Unprettier (also known as the Killswitch),the Vertebreaker is all kinds of bad news. Impact from this move largely depends on your head position, so at least you get to choose which bit of your anatomy gets smashed up.

Tilt the head backwards, as might feel natural when your back is arched at that angle, and your face may well take the brunt of the impact, snapping the head backwards.

Keep the neck rigid and you've got all kinds of hideous compression fractures coming your way, not to mention blunt trauma to the top of the skull.

Curl the head forwards, perhaps in a vain attempt to avoid a date with the floor, and your pretty little neck takes the full force of your bodyweight, plus the weight of the dude that is dropping you. Can we say 'internal decapitation'?
