9 WWE Champions You Didn't Care Enough To Hate

John Cena held the WWE Title for 380 days after victory over Edge at Unforgiven 2006, almost all of which saw him get booed relentlessly by die-hard types convinced that he had no idea what he was doing between the ropes.

They were mistaken on that. Cena was a perfectly reliable performer inside the ring, evidenced by his brilliant matches alongside the likes of Umaga and Bobby Lashley, guys who never looked better than when they shared the stage with Mr Hustle, Loyalty, Respect.

But they were right about one thing: Cena's Superman shtick had outstayed its welcome. In those final couple of months, in fact, the jeers were replaced in some arenas by silent indifference. Fans just didn't care anymore.

The company was eventually forced into a belated title switch after his injury in October - although it would only be another three months before he returned to snatch victory at the Royal Rumble (on that occasion, to be fair, well all had to admit that we cared).
