AEW To Lose Sponsorship? Domino's PISSED After Pizza Cutter Spot

Domino's Pizza don't want a slice of that Nick Gage vs. Chris Jericho action...

Domino's Pizza has released a statement on AEW's use of a pizza cutter as a weapon during this week's Fight for the Fallen main event, disavowing the stunt in the process.

Nick Gage wrestled Chris Jericho in a brutal, bloody deathmatch that brought a shocking level of violence to national television. The GCW pillar used the pizza cutter, his signature weapon, to cut Jericho throughout the bout. At one point, Dynamite went to commercial immediately after Gage had run it across his opponent's head.

This went viral for obvious reasons. Unfortunately for AEW, Domino's were less than amused, with spokesperson Jenny Fouracre-Petko saying the following to Front Office Sports' Michael McCarthy:-

“We share the concerns expressed about this incident and the content of this TV-14 rated program, and are assessing our advertising presence on it going forward."

AEW has not issued a response, though IMPACT Wrestling's Matt Cardona, who defeated Gage to become GCW World Champion last weekend, has tweeted the following:-

Per data from Wrestlenomics, Gage vs. Jericho featured in one of Dynamite's highest-drawing segments this week. The show's last 15 minutes pulled in 1.179 million viewers - an increase of 93,000 on the previous quarter.
