AJ Styles has come a long way since losing to The Hurricane on WWF Metal in 2002. After declining WWF/E’s developmental contract, he went on to appear in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and other promotions around the world, before eventually making a spectacular WWE return at the Royal Rumble in 2016.

Following the Royal Rumble, The Phenomenal One had dream matches against Roman Reigns, John Cena, and… James Ellsworth. The most memorable moment from the series of matches against Ellsworth was the time when the Chinless Wonder forgot how to take the Styles Clash properly. Thankfully, Styles professionalism shined through, as he adjusted his body to protect his useless foe.

There is only one “phenomenal” move that Styles hasn't used over the last three years: the Spiral Tap. Only time will tell if the “real” AJ Styles will perform the Spiral Tap again. Nevertheless, fans still got to watch Styles hit opponents with the Style Clash, Phenomenal Forearm, and 450 in the most creative ways imaginable…
