Dave Meltzer posted a very interesting tidbit on the Wrestling Observer forum this past Sunday: an as-yet-unnamed party has booked traditional WWE stronghold Madison Square Garden, the company's spiritual home. Per Uncle Dave:

"There is a show booked by a non-WWE promotion before the end of this year. I expect it not to happen and it hasn't been announced, but there is a hold on a date and WWE can't stop it."

Cody fanned the flames by teasing ALL IN 2 at that very venue following Ring Of Honor's TV tapings over the weekend which, adding yet more fuel, took place in the New York market. ALL IN 2 is one of very few realistic predictions. Ring Of Honor would need to triple its highest-ever gate of 6000 to sell out the venue - and that is without the underdog, once-in-a-lifetime marketing campaign behind what we way soon refer to as ALL IN 1. New Japan Pro Wrestling surprised even itself with the rate at which its first two U.S. shows sold tickets, but the imminent Cow Palace show hasn't ignited in quite the same way - suggesting a certain novelty driving the market at present.

It's that novelty Cody et al. may hope is not an aberration, given the extortionate costs required to run the venue - costs so astronomical that WWE refuses to tape TV there despite its absurdly minted status in 2018.

But when did reality stop any wrestling promotor? Is it even satire to suspect that Five Star Wrestling has one last go for literal broke in them? What's Jeff Jarrett up to these days?

It's a fascinating development - and tellingly, reading between the lines, Meltzer's "I expect it not to happen" warning may suggest a shyster operation at hand.
