Backstage News On Vince McMahon's Reaction To Falling WWE Ratings
RAW has hit several all-time lows since the Empty Arena Era began.
Vince McMahon isn't losing too much sleep over WWE's declining television ratings through the ongoing global health crisis.
This is according to a new report from Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co, whose sources state that the WWE Chairman and CEO has "shrugged off" the plummeting figures believing that everything will go back to normal after SummerSlam (23 August), crossing the 2 million mark once more.
McMahon feels that the promotion will be able to have fans at shows again from September, hence his optimism.
The writeup also notes that USA Network and FOX are both satisfied with how RAW, SmackDown, and NXT are performing, and that "everyone knows things will get better." The networks' stance is understandable: overall viewership and ratings in the key 18-49 demographic are down, though RAW and SmackDown remain leading shows for their respective benefactors in the demo, which is the most important metric.
Last week's RAW hit the show's lowest overall viewership ever, coming in at an average of just 1.56 million. SmackDown also struggled, falling to 1.893 million on FOX, though the blue brand still finished at number one in the demographic.
