Backstage Update On AJ Styles' WWE Injury Status

When will we see 'The Phenomenal One' again?

AJ Styles was struck down by injury at the Royal Rumble last weekend, taking an awkward bump off a Spear from the returning Edge.

'The Phenomenal One' flipped and landed on his arm. Something had clearly gone wrong as the limb looked like it was dangling down from his body afterwards and Styles was promptly thrown out of the match before being seen to by medical officials. Naturally, this sent waves of worry through his considerable fanbase.

While we're still waiting for complete confirmation on the exact nature of Styles' injury, the hope within WWE is that he'll be back in time for WrestleMania 36. This is according to Dave Meltzer on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, who claimed that while AJ's injury could be a separated shoulder, that the promotion only expects him to miss a couple of months suggests the problem isn't particularly serious.

Styles' OC stablemates didn't fare well in his absence from this week's episode of Raw, with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows felled by Drew McIntyre in roughly two minutes. This doesn't bode well for their in-ring fortunes while 'The Phenomenal One' is away.
