WWE SmackDown General Manager Shane McMahon has storyline fined and suspended Baron Corbin for one week after pushing a referee on Tuesday's episode of Talking Smack. The incident came when 'The Lone Wolf' jumped Sami Zayn during an interview with Renee Young and JBL, before officials tried to pull him away. A frustrated Corbin then lashed-out, shoving the referee off his feet, and backing away from the situation.

McMahon announced the decision on Twitter, stating the following:-

The Corbin/Zayn rivalry kicked-off earlier in the evening, when Sami saved AJ Styles from a two-on-one beatdown by Baron and United States Champion Kevin Owens. Though Corbin will now miss next week's SmackDown, the feud looks set to continue over the coming weeks, with May 21st's Backlash pay-per-view a likely location for their eventual match.

A report in last week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that WWE have big plans for Corbin, and plan on eventually making him SmackDown's top heel. Braun Strowman shot to the top of Raw's card after bullying his way through Zayn, so it looks like WWE will tread a similar path with 'The Lone Wolf' on the blue brand.
