When Is Batista Expected To Make His WWE Return?

The Animal may be back in WWE soon, but it may not be for too long.

Batista left WWE on the June 2, 2014 edition of Raw. He "quit" the company in storyline because he had to go promote the film Guardians of the Galaxy. As most people know, Guardians ended up being a huge success. As of August 24th, the film has earned $251.5 million in North America and $237.6 million in other countries for a worldwide total of $489.1 million. The movie is one of the most successful of the year and Batista's performance as Drax the Destroyer was great too. Now that the promotion of the film is over, Batista could come back to WWE at any time although we have no idea when that might be. A new report from PWInsider notes that several people within WWE who believe that Batista will never return to WWE as a full time performer. When he came back to WWE in January 2014 the deal was for two years, which would probably go until WrestleMania 32 in 2016. That could change, though. According to the report, Batista's future with the company was a hot topic backstage at this weekend's WWE live events. The wrestlers are likely talking amongst themselves about whether or not Batista wants to return to WWE at this point. He's likely going to get more movie offers after the success of Guardians. In addition to Batista's desire to wrestle again, there are also concerns about Batista getting injured now that his film career is taking off. He's 45 years old with a long list of injuries in his career and he's not going to put his acting career at risk to wrestle full time. Batista's done a number of interviews in the last couple of months where he said that he was going to come back to WWE again. It's just a matter of when. What will be interesting about his return is if he'll still work live events like he did in the past or if he'll only work Raw events and PPVs. He's discussed how he wanted his last match to be against Triple H. Many people thought that might be at WrestleMania 32 in 2016, but don't be surprised if it happens at WrestleMania 31 in 2015 instead. The WWE future of Batista is very much in doubt. He's supposed to be back "soon" although at this point we have no idea when that will be.
