Best Feuds For WWE's 5 New Main Roster Recruits

As is traditional in the days following WrestleMania, a whole bunch of new wrestlers were introduced to Raw and SmackDown this week.

On Monday night, a returning Bobby Lashley made his first WWE appearance in more than a decade, Ember Moon threw a spanner in the Women's Championship division, and The Authors of Pain left a mark on Heath Slater and Rhyno. Even No Way Jose rocked up, beating an anonymous jobber in about 40 seconds.

Things on the blue brand were, admittedly, slightly less interesting. Only two new wrestlers were introduced to the SmackDown roster in the shape of Australian duo Peyton Royce and Billie Kay - although, to be fair, they perhaps made the biggest impact of them all by costing Charlotte her title belt.

All of this is hugely exciting for WWE fans, because it absolutely guarantees fresh feuds instead of a depressing continuation of the same ones we've been watching for the previous two or three months. The only question is who each of the new recruits should be paired with in their first major programmes...

5. No Way Jose: Elias

The obvious match-up for a charismatic baby-face like No Way Jose is The Miz, a detestable heel whose arrogant 'I'm better than you' shtick lends itself so readily to ridicule - but he's said to be taking a break from the ring, so Elias will have to do instead.

To be fair, that's not exactly a bad back-up option. WWE's resident rockstar is comfortably one of the most charismatic wrestlers on the Monday Night Raw roster, and you can easily see some entertaining back and forths between him and his fellow NXT grad on the microphone.

The dissolution of brand-exclusive Network events means that feuds of this level - what you might call "lower mid-card" now have a serious problem though, namely the fact that they are likely to face increasing competition to land a spot on pay-per-view.

As such, it's possible that - should it happen - the duo will be confined to a prolonged programme on Raw. That doesn't have to be a death knell for the feud, of course, but it means the promo work would have to be on point.
