Braun Strowman has sent Roman Reigns to the hospital numerous times as part of their ongoing storyline, but now looks set for a legitimate spell on the sidelines himself.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, 'The Monster Among Men' will take time off to undergo surgery to repair undisclosed elbow issues, and is expected to miss 4-8 weeks of television.

This means he'll miss Extreme Rules on June 4th, and potentially Great Balls of Fire on July 9th. Braun was reportedly set to face Reigns on the first pay-per-view and WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar on the second, but his surgery has forced WWE to rewrite their plans.

Strowman's TV character has been suffering from a torn rotator cuff after running into an ambulance door at Payback. The angle was furthered on last night's Raw, with Roman destroying Braun's arm with a steel chair and on the ring steps, thus justifying his absence wthin the story.

The injury comes at an inopportune time, as Strowman's popularity is peaking on Raw. The show will miss his destructive presence, though his incredible momentum means he should be able to pick up where he left off upon returning.
