Brock Lesnar Advertised For October WWE Live Event In New York

First live event for Lesnar in the US in over a decade!

Brock Lesnar will be wrestling at a WWE live event in the United States of America for the first time in 11 years; he's been announced for the Saturday October 3 house show at Madison Square Garden in New York City along with his advocate Paul Heyman. An opponent for Lesnar has not yet been named. When he re-signed with WWE in March, Lesnar got a big raise and also agreed to work more events, like the July 4 event in Tokyo and this show in New York City. Other matches being advertised for the show are United States Champion John Cena vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Randy Orton vs. Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev. Those are all current feuds, but those matches could change over the next two months.

The date of the show is also interesting for Chris Jericho because he noted on his podcast that the first match of his career was on October 2, 1990. That means it will be almost 25 years after his debut, so Jericho hopes to do something special to celebrate the occasion. He's working the MSG show and the show the night before in Trenton, NJ as well. There's a possibility that WWE could choose to broadcast the event on WWE Network as a Saturday night special. When they did the Japan special on July 4 it did very well in terms of the numbers and that was with a very early airing for North American fans, so doing a show from NYC in primetime could do even better.
