WWE Champion Brock Lesnar Appears At UFC 184

Just taking in a fight, or sending a message?

None other than former UFC heavyweight champion (and current WWE champion) Brock Lesnar was featured at last night's UFC 184 Pay Per View, shown cage side decked out in a suit and looking considerably trimmer than he has in recent years. The event featured Ronda Rousey breaking the record for shortest UFC title defence at just 14 seconds, the total amount of time required for her to catch Cat Zingano in her patented arm bar. The record had been previously held by former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski. Lesnar's appearance, while brief, got a huge crowd reaction and Lesnar himself seemed pretty fired up. Coming less than a week after a highly publicized walk-out on RAW, something attributed to negotiations between the WWE and Lesnar hitting an impasse, could this be just a coincidence - or was Lesnar sending the WWE a message? In recent weeks both Josh Barnett and Frank Mir, who is finally back in the win column, have called out the former champion, and either fight would do big business at the box office. Lesnar was caught on camera visiting with Tony Ferguson, who picked up another win Saturday night, and with UFC President Dana White, who addressed the visit later in the night.
"Apparently Brock Lesnar is a UFC fan, and he was in town and wanted to come see the fight tonight. He€™s under contract with the WWE, and when his contract is up, I€™m sure he€™ll call me."
Take White's words with a grain of salt. Lesnar is a very savvy negotiator, and turning up at UFC 184 will remind the WWE of just how popular he remains in the world of MMA, as numerous outlets have been covering his cameo. And while it's likely nothing more than a negotiating toy, it will stir up another round of speculation about his future.
