Brock Lesnar Confirmed For WWE Raw Tonight

He's back and he's focused on winning some gold.

The rumor has existed for months and it is now confirmed: Brock Lesnar is in Miami for tonight's edition of Monday Night Raw. The news has been confirmed by PWInsider and backs up the previous news items about Brock Lesnar challenging John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam on August 17 in Los Angeles. While Lesnar is expected to be on Raw with Paul Heyman by his side, John Cena wont be there. As we reported last week, Cena is headed to New York City to film scenes for the Judd Apatow film Trainwreck in New York City. Cena apparently flew from Tampa (site of last night's Battleground event) to New York City this morning. Even without Cena in the building, they can still have Lesnar challenge him for the WWE Title or have Triple H name him as the challenger and then build to a Lesnar/Cena confrontation next week on Raw. It's not like Lesnar is going to have to compete to earn the right. It will be given to him. The storyline explanation for Lesnar returning to WWE will be that "Plan C" angle that was mentioned by Paul Heyman on Raw last week. The Authority's "Plan A" was for Randy Orton to win the WWE Title at Battleground thanks to Kane's help. That didn't happen. The "Plan B" scenario was for Seth Rollins to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase against Cena if he was still the champion. That didn't happen either because Rollins was dealing with Dean Ambrose, who caused Rollins to leave the show early because Ambrose kept attacking him. That leaves us with "Plan C" as the next best option. Here's a tweet from Paul Heyman last night during Battleground (as the main event was taking place) referencing the "Plan C" storyline. https://twitter.com/HeymanHustle/status/491048474071154689 It was a smart way to set the angle up and get people talking. Those of us that know what the plan was can get excited at the prospect of seeing Lesnar back in a WWE ring for the first time since April while the fans that don't know can speculate on what it might mean. The road to SummerSlam begins tonight as the man that ended the Undertaker's WrestleMania streak returns to Monday Night Raw.
