Brock Lesnar Re-Signs With WWE
Company also announce steel cage match for Saudi Arabia
A day removed from bloodying up Roman Reigns to retain his Universal Title at WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar has resigned with WWE, the company have confirmed.
The organisation released a statement asserting that Brock - who had been widely tipped to return to MMA following the New Orleans supershow - has penned a new deal with the pro-wrestling juggernauts, though they were not forthcoming with any specifics.
The press release also advertised that The Beast Incarnate will defend the red strap in a steel cage match opposite Reigns in just over two weeks time, at the hugely anticipated Greatest Royal Rumble special emanating from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
UFC's Dana White was in attendance in the Superdome last night, ostensibly to support former employee Ronda Rousey. His presence sparked rumours that he had the ulterior motive of making sweet with Brock at the close of the show about a return to the Octagon. White claimed before the event that Lesnar would be returning to MMA; quite what this latest development means for those plans remains to be seen.
The Greatest Royal Rumble is scheduled for 27 April in the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Jeddah. Brock's steel cage affair is one of six title matches set to take place on the supershow, alongside the frankly ludicrous 50-man Royal Rumble.
