WWE star Brock Lesnar returned to the ring last night, making a rare house show appearance in Chicago.

The Universal Champion, one month removed from his WrestleMania clash with Roman Reigns, was surprisingly absent from Raw on Monday, with reports suggesting that he was ready to quit the squared circle for a return to UFC inevitably surfacing soon after.

But both parties appear to have made a move to quash any such speculation with a match at the United Center on Saturday, The Beast Incarnate's first since his successful triple threat title defence against Braun Strowman and Kane at the Royal Rumble.

Granted, it's probably going to take something a little more concrete to convince the cynics that his long-term future lies with Vince McMahon. Lesnar only appeared in front of the crowd for a few precious minutes, beating a hapless Big Red Machine inside 35 seconds after an F-5.

At the very least, however, we can probably take this as a sign that his role in the build-up to 8 April will amount to more than the occasional video-link interview.
