Brock Lesnar Scheduled For Oct 21 Smackdown Tapings Before WWE Hell In A Cell

Does this mean that Lesnar could be wrestling at October's Hell in a Cell PPV too? We sure hope so!

When Brock Lesnar won the WWE Title from John Cena at SummerSlam it led to a lot of questions from fans wondering what kind of schedule he would have going forward. Lesnar's previous WWE schedule called for him to wrestle four times per year and make sporadic television appearances. Now that Lesnar's the WWE Champion it appears like he's going to be appearing more often, which is a great thing for WWE and its fans. It was announced on Thursday that Lesnar is being advertised for the October 21 Smackdown tapings in Wichita, Kansas. It's the last TV taping prior to the October 26 Hell in a Cell PPV event. At this time we don't know if Lesnar would appear on Raw on October 20 or any other October shows. The assumption is that if Lesnar is going to be at a Smackdown taping prior to Hell in a Cell then he's probably going to wrestle at that the Hell in a Cell PPV. The other reason this news item is significant is that Lesnar hasn't appeared on Smackdown in over a decade. Since Smackdown is moving to Thursday nights in October as we have previously reported, it shows that WWE is going to make Smackdown a stronger show going forward. Having Lesnar appear on the "blue brand" would certainly make it seem like a big deal once again. Lesnar's not scheduled to appear before the live crowd on Raw until September 15, which is six days before Night of Champions. We might see him in video packages on the September 1 and September 8 shows like he was on this past week's Raw, but we don't know that for sure. It's not easy for WWE to book Lesnar for shows when he's only on television on a part time basis, but they are doing the best that they can. Regarding Hell in a Cell, it will be interesting to see who might challenge Lesnar for the WWE Title assuming he beats John Cena at Night of Champions. Perhaps that would be the right time to bring back Batista as a babyface, which could lead to a physical battle between "The Beast" Lesnar and "The Animal" Batista. They could always do Lesnar vs. Cena again although three PPVs in a row might be too much for them. As we have seen in the past, plans can change. They might remove Lesnar from the Smackdown tapings or it could be an error on the part of somebody that wasn't supposed to share that information. For now we'll just assume that Lesnar will be there and hope that he continues to wrestle at every PPV because that is what would be best for business.
