The Beast is back.

WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will return from his latest hiatus on the 18 December episode of Raw, according to the venue's official Twitter account.

The Dunkin Donuts Center's social media team broke the news yesterday afternoon. Given that 'The Beast Incarnate' isn't currently advertised to appear on any shows before then, it's a safe bet that this will be his first appearance since defeating WWE Champion AJ Styles at Survivor Series (19 November).

WWE are yet to name Lesnar's Universal Title challenger for the Royal Rumble, and it's likely that they'll use 18 December to plant the seeds for whatever they have planned. As reported last week, Finn Bálor was originally pegged for the role, but has been pulled from the slot after Vince McMahon decreed he wasn't over enough.

The Irishman's elimination leaves a short list of options. With Brock set to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, perhaps WWE will serve Dean Ambrose or Seth Rollins as an appetiser in January, as 'The Beast' has already defeated most of Raw's top stars. Whoever he faces next, we look forward to the Universal Champion's next move.
