Chris Jericho got himself busted wide open on last night's AEW Dynamite.

When the AEW World Champion decided to get in Jon Moxley's face during their weigh-in segment, 'The Purveyor of Violence' headbutted him. A large gash opened up right between Jericho's eyes and while 'The Painmaker' had the last laugh, posing hoisting the belt high with a foot planted on Mox's back as Dynamite went off the air, he was bloodied for much of the segment.

The official AEW Twitter account posted the following after the show, revealing that Jericho needed seven stitches to close his wounds:-

The bloodletting was almost certainly unintentional, as two wrestlers trying to draw colour with a shoot headbutt is pure lunacy. Still, it added an extra something to the angle. Blood always does, and Dynamite's closer felt more intense, brutal, and attritional as a result.

Jericho will defend his AEW World Championship against Moxley at this Saturday's Revolution pay-per-view. It's a match that has been in the work for months now and forms a trio of outstanding, headliner-worthy bouts alongside Cody vs. MJF and the Hangman Page/Kenny Omega vs. The Young Bucks Tag Team Title clash.
