CM Punk: 10 Unfinished Storylines For WWE Return
Wrestling fans would be forgiven for feeling like Punk left some business on the table.
WWE.comCM Punks abrupt departure from the WWE last January has left open the possibility of a variety of story-line options, should he return in the near future. When he informed Vince McMahon the night after the Royal Rumble that he was going home, he was engaging in a few rivalries that could be quite simply rekindled. In addition, fresh talent has been pushed since Punks exit, particularly since Wrestlemania XXX, so there are plenty of opportunities for him to engage in fresh rivalries with superstars he is yet to fight, or hasnt fought in a while. And of course, there are old rivalries that can always be revisited with superstars he has had blockbuster matches with in the past. Admittedly, one of the negatives of his incredibly long run as WWE Champion was that he understandably grew slightly stale as champion and had to be entered into programmes not contested over the title. Because of this, he was thrust between various feuds with the likes of Paul Heyman, The Shield, Kane and Triple H and it became apparent that he had no clear direction. However, his time off paves the way for fresh feuds, as well as another potential run in the championship picture. This article takes a look at 10 possible story-line options for him, if he is to return, but lets be honest the list could have been twice as long because everyone is going to want a piece of Punk.
