CM Punk Blasts Triple H And Vince McMahon In First Comments On WWE Exit

CM Punk finally speaks out.

CM Punk has finally revealed all the details about his WWE exit. Speaking on Colt Cabana's podcast, Punk blasted Triple H and Vince McMahon for the way they treated him. He said that he didn't quit, but got fired on the day of his wedding to AJ lee. Before that he'd been under suspension after disagreeing with WWE over the state of his health. Punk believed he was concussed at the Royal Rumble, but WWE's testing didn't show this. Punk took exception to the results and had a furious meeting with Triple H and Vince McMahon in which he told them he was taking off. In addition to a combination of health woes, Punk was also seriously upset with financial and creative issues. In the podcast he shoots on Triple H for the way their feud went in 2011. "All due respect, I seriously resent you for not putting me over three years ago when you should have," Punk says he said to Hunter on the night of the exit. He goes on to say that he thinks Hunter is a "piece of sh**." He doesn't respect Vince McMahon much either. He calls the WWE Chairman an "out of touch old man" and says he told him that it was garbage that Daniel Bryan wasn't being considered for the WrestleMania 30 main event. Money was also important to Punk's conversation. Throughout the podcast interview he brings up the fact he wasn't paid his worth, despite selling more merchandise than Cena at points. He was seriously unhappy at his Mania 29 payoff when a range of headliners got more money than him. He also didn't like the WWE Network changes, and was frustrated that Vince had no idea what would happen to pay per view payoffs. All of this combined, with the concussion as the breaking point, Punk ended up telling Hunter and Vince that he was done. McMahon then cried and hugged Punk, telling him that he was family. A few weeks after that, Vince put Punk under suspension for two months. When that ended, Punk says nobody contacted him. He eventually reached out to the company about royalties. They gave him the run around, before sending termination papers. The reason for his firing was due to breaching his contract on his wedding day. Punk says that was "too f***ing far." There's a lot more that Punk said and those points will be covered in a full feature analysis later today. In particular, some of Punk's comments on WWE's doctors and Independent Contractor business model are very controversial. He throws into question the very legitimacy of WWE's concussion testing and healthcare. His questioning of the legality of WWE's Independent Contractor setup is very interesting. Punk says he had a vicious lawyer going after the WWE, but the company ended up giving him everything he wanted and more. With all of these significant comments, there is now no doubt, CM Punk is never going back to the WWE. It'll now be interesting to see if WWE fire back in any way, as Punk has really crossed a few lines in terms of his criticism and accusations.
