CM Punk In New Cabana Podcast: Refuses Vince McMahon's Apology

Colt Cabana hosts another riveting podcast with CM Punk.

CM Punk has refused to accept Vince McMahon's apology over the way WWE fired him on his wedding day. Speaking on a new edition of Colt Cabana's podcast, Punk was dismissive of ever going back to WWE. "I appreciate the sentiment, but that was not a sincere apology," Punk said of McMahon's comments on the Steve Austin podcast. "You have my phone number, you have my address. You could text, you could call, you could show up when you're a 10 minute f****** drive from my house and apologise to me like a man. That's the f****** reality of it." Punk reiterated that he did not think it was a coincidence WWE fired him on his wedding day. Earlier this week, McMahon told Steve Austin that it was a mix-up in departments. The WWE Chairman appeared genuine during the WWE Network special for Austin's podcast. Privately, Punk probably did appreciate it more than he was letting on here. He was playing it cool in his latest interview with Cabana, but he was on the whole a lot calmer about things. It was a far less explosive interview. Punk and Cabana were more like buddies shooting the breeze, with a lot of the chat being about frivolous points. Punk did note that he would never go back to WWE, saying it is "way too f****** early and I have no interest in f****** going back." However, both Punk and WWE appear to be healing after their respective podcast interviews this week. There's a sense that the weight of the last year has lifted for both sides now that they've talked about it. The cloud of mystery has gone. Other notable points included Punk saying The Rock texted him on Thanksgiving. Punk said Rock wanted to check what all the fuss was about, and noted that the two were cool with each other. That's pretty interesting as it shows Rock is still massively engaged with pro wrestling. Here's this huge movie star texting CM Punk about a wrestling podcast. Punk also noted that he doesn't mind CM Punk chants during his wife's matches. There's no word if AJ Lee feels the same way. He doesn't watch WWE, but he does watch her segments.
