CM Punk Retirement Speech Was Expected On WWE Chicago Raw?

CM Punk was never scripted to be on Raw from Chicago on Monday, but before that was confirmed, many within WWE were hoping to see him come in and do a retirement speech or farewell. The report stating this information also adds that there was some talk of WWE booking a fatal four way at Wrestlemania 30, which would have seen the WWE Championship match transformed into Orton vs Batista vs Bryan vs Punk. However, with Punk choosing to stay away from the company, it "just was not the situation" that a four way could be put together. This report allows us to conclude several things right now. Punk is probably done with WWE, with his peers feeling he is retiring. There was obviously an impression backstage that Punk would be at Raw up until the script confirmed otherwise, and the fact he didn't show is probably the definite sign he isn't coming back. The locker room may have been hoping to see Punk, but it obviously isn't a mutual sentiment. The fact Punk was also being talked about as an addition to the title match shows that those within WWE don't expect it to stay as Orton vs Batista for Wrestlemania 30. What could happen now is WWE make it a triple threat with Bryan taking on Orton and Batista. Only CM Punk truly knows what has gone on and where he stands now. It sounds like the WWE locker room is as in the dark as much as fans are. Much of the hottest wrestling story of 2014 for now remains a mystery.
