CM Punk Shoots On Shane McMahon During WWE Extreme Rules

'Voice Of The Voiceless' still knows how to speak for much of the fanbase...

CM Punk jokingly landed a blow on an already-downed Shane McMahon on Twitter after 'The Best In The World' took a hellish beating from Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.

'The Money' inadvertently featured in a Tweet from Philadelphia 76ers Communications VP Dave Sholler thanking WWE promoter John Varesio for his tickets.

Clocking Shane's prone frame, Punk replied "Is that a fan that jumped in the ring?"

As with any time he tweets about wrestling, Punk's reply drew the attention of many of those within his former profession. He rarely makes any reference to any wrestling on social media, and subsequently triggers immediate interest every time he does.

This particular stab may just be some overdue return fire from Punk - Shane's moniker since winning the World Cup at November 2018's Crown Jewel has at times felt like a direct dig at the former WWE Champion from the son of The Chairman. Shane McMahon wasn't part of the organisation when Punk acrimoniously exited it in 2014, but hasn't exactly lived up to the name or reputation upheld by Punk when he wore the confident proclamation.

The tweet doesn't at all mean Punk will sign for AEW, nor, for that matter, that he is back on terms with WWE - but don't expect that to curb the impending deluge of Cody Ear-cupping gifs in his replies.
