After his ratings-quadrupling debut on FS1 studio show WWE Backstage last week, CM Punk will not be appearing on tonight's edition of the programme.

The official WWE on FOX Twitter account advertised that NXT honcho Triple H will join the crew from the Performance Center to talk his outfit's big Survivor Series success. Asked by a fan whether Punk would also be in attendance alongside Renee Young and co., the account confirmed that "he will not be."

Punk indirectly returned to WWE as an analyst on Backstage last week, after spending five embittered years out of the industry following his acrimonious 2014 walkout. It's not known whether he'll be back in the chair once more next Tuesday, though one assumes he will be once the post-Survivor Series fallout is done and dusted.

In other CM Punk news, The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported that Vince McMahon was livid Seth Rollins responded to fans chanting the Best in the World's name on Monday Night Raw. According to the journalist, McMahon was "furious" at Rollins for teasing a match the company can't deliver at the moment.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
