Daniel Bryan Could Be Out Injured For The Rest Of 2014

The former WWE Champion could be set to undergo more surgery.

WWE.comWWE.comDaniel Bryan announced on the Money In The Bank pre-show that he is possibly going to need a second neck surgery. The reason for this is that Bryan hasn't recovered any strength in his arm after his original May 15th surgery. Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio believes Bryan's announcement was legitimate, commenting that this a very worrying problem for Bryan's status in WWE. Bryan vowed to return at some stage, but with a second surgery looming, this could see Bryan on the recovery bench for the rest of 2014. "I would think that if he had another surgery, it's probably going to be a six month to a year thing," Meltzer said on Bryan's predicament. Given that WWE and Bryan didn't give any definite answers at Money In The Bank, they're probably still unsure themselves. They'll try to avoid a second surgery if need be, so maybe they're giving Bryan more time and hoping for the best. If it is the case that he requires the second surgery then we'll probably have a definite clarification on his status in the coming month. The sooner they can get Bryan fixed up the better. If this is going to be a six month lay off from now, then they better get him into the operating theatre as soon as possible, with WrestleMania 31's build starting in just seven months. It's a big shame for Daniel Bryan as the man who was meant to be the star of the summer, following on from his huge WrestleMania 30 success. His neck has proved simply too much of a risk for him to work. You might have expected WWE to book his major injury revelation with some sort of prominence, but instead they hid it away on the Money In The Bank pre show as part of a comedy sketch between Bryan and Bo Dallas. Sadly the Yes Movement leader has already lost a lot of his momentum and booking like that certainly didn't help him.
