However, earlier on that very same show was a match that would change the face of WWE for many years to come. It was on this night that Daniel Bryan was victorious in the Money In The Bank match, earning his first shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. The crowds in Chicago have long been known as some of the most vocal and vicious crowds in the United States. The crowd in July 2011 was no different, as many in this crowd had been familiar with Bryan's work for several years. Bryan had many memorable matches in Chicago while part of Ring of Honor wrestling in the mid 2000s, so with a much talked about history of matches in this great wrestling city, it was no surprise that the crowd erupted in massive approval when he was victorious in that night's Money In The Bank match. Bryan went on to cash in his Money In The Bank contract at December's TLC pay per view event, winning the World Heavyweight Championship (for the first time) from the Big Show.
