Viceland's dissection of the most controversial moments in the history of professional wrestling is set to continue, with the second season of documentary series Dark Side of Ring airing this Tuesday at 9pm EST.

The first episode, split into two parts, focuses on undoubtedly the darkest day that ever benighted the industry: the Chris Benoit tragedy. The first part, retelling the background events leading up to Benoit's double murder/suicide, is already available to watch on YouTube.

In the re-enactment, Benoit is portrayed by Canadian pro Tyson Dux, who has had multiple appearance in WWE since 2002. His most recent stint in the company came as part of 2016's Cruiserweight Classic, during which he was eliminated by Zack Sabre Jr.

Dux spoke about the role on Twitter, saying it was an 'honour' to portray a man he grow up idolising:

It was an honour to play Benoit. I idolized him growing up. He is the reason I wanted to be a pro wrestler. To be apart of this was surreal. If you haven’t yet check this out.

Meanwhile, AEW's Chris Jericho narrates the episode, as he does the entire series, which covers topics including Jimmy Snuka and the death of Nancy Argentino, Dino Bravo's assassination, and WWE's infamous Brawl for All.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
