Dean Ambrose may have suffered an undisclosed injury while working a WWE live event in Tupelo, Mississippi this past Saturday night (23 February).

This is according to a number of fan reports from the event, as a number of attendees took to social media in the aftermath, claiming that the referee threw up the dreaded X sign after Ambrose had taken a Claymore Kick from Drew McIntyre.

WWE haven't released anything on the situation, which means it's important to take these reports with a pinch of salt. The X doesn't usually come up unless something has gone seriously wrong. By all accounts, however, Ambrose was able to leave the ring and head to the back of his own accord.

It has been an eventful few weeks for Ambrose. WWE's 'Moral Compass' has been on a creative downward spiral since news that he'd be leaving the company in April broke, racking up a number of televised losses, getting smacked in the face by Nia Jax, and generally mailing in his Raw performances. This Bizarro World version of the former Shield man has been oddly entertaining, though any injury may bring his WWE tenure to a premature end.
