Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada fought again this weekend at NJPW's annual G1 Climax tournament, and some fans are already tentatively suggesting it may have been the third best match of the year.

The pair originally squared up in January, going nearly 50 minutes at the Tokyo Dome for Wrestle Kingdom 11, a match that earned the first ever six-star rating from the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer.

And months later they did one better by attracting a six-and-a-quarter-star rating for an hour-long effort at Dominion 6.11 in Osaka-jo Hall in June.

This time they managed just 30 minutes - a time limit imposed in order to keep them from spilling over into other competitors' match slots.

Whilst Meltzer is yet to deliver his verdict, early online reactions have praised a fitting installment worthy of gracing what is surely one of wrestling's all-time great trilogies.

And there's more to come. Omega's victory - his first in the series - will see him head into tomorrow's final, where he will face Tetsuya Naito, the winner of the corresponding bracket.
