Did WWE Raw Viewership Fall To New Record Lows?

Were WWE able to turn it around this week?

For the first time in several weeks, the viewership number for Monday's RAW show didn't drop from the week prior. The October 5 edition of RAW drew an average of 3.378 million viewers. This was an improvement of 48,000 compared with last week's show, which averaged 3.330 million viewers. Though the number is up slightly this week, it is still incredibly low from a historical perspective. It is the third lowest average viewership for the show since it moved to three hours back in 2012. The only two lower numbers were last week (September 28) and the week prior to that (September 21). The alarming trend of the RAW viewership decreasing toward the end of the show continued this week, despite WWE saving John Cena's appearance on the show for the final hour of the broadcast. The show averaged 3.473 million viewers during hour number one, 3.494 million viewers for hour number two, and just 3.167 million viewers for the final third hour. The Monday Night Football game between the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions averaged 14.403 million viewers. It was a close game throughout, and the final hour of RAW certainly could have been hurt by viewers switching over to the game. At the same time, it has to be disturbing for WWE that their top superstar (Cena) failed to move the needle during the final hour of the show. RAW was the fifth most watched show on cable television on Monday night among 18-49 year olds, trailing the football game, Sportscenter, Love And Hip Hop Hollywood, and Black Ink Crew.
