Do Any Of WWE Titles Have Any Prestige Left?

The Tag Team Titles

Starting down the bottom of the list with the current WWE Tag Team Titles I would have to say that I don't think there is any prestige in these titles at all. Putting aside the fact that the new titles are just ugly I will go out on a limb and say that tag team wrestling in the WWE is dead (or at least has been in a coma for a very long time). Tag team wrestling was at its strongest point back in 2000 when we had the Summerslam TLC Tag Team match between Edge and Christian, The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boys. Those three teams are some of the most well known tag teams ever and that match raised the bar for tag team matches from then on. But it seemed like after that the tag team division just stopped trying. The teams just became less and less memorable until they just start to blend together into one vague blur, I mean does anyone really remember Billy and Chuck? Or the Dicks? Both tag teams that existed but were practically the same thing. After this the tag team division just became a few random singles wrestlers that were thrown together into rag tag teams for example Eddie Guerrero and Tajiri or Rene Dupree and Kenzo Suzuki. The real moment the the titles went into hibernation was when the Spirit Squad, composed of five men, captured the titles. In my opinion the tag team titles need to be held by real tag teams like The Road Warriors, The Fabulous Freebirds, The Natural Disasters. Teams that are always shown together, have proper tag team entrances and hopefully matching attires, not just a failing main eventer and that large ball and chain known as the Big Show. Recently Triple H has said he wants to reinvigorate the tag team division but I feel that it needs to earn its prestige again before it will be a belt worth holding.
