Dolph Ziggler Unofficially Joins WWE Grand Slam Championship Club

Wait a second... he already had a tag team title run?

Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre have finally done what The Revival somehow couldn't manage to pull off and take the Raw Tag Team Championships off the shoulders of the B-Team.

Now that Dolph Ziggler has finally claimed a world championship, a tag team belt, and both the United States and Intercontinental titles, "Ziggle" (as Michael Cole so eloquently referred to him on last night's Raw) is due a major celebration. Dolph now sits high among the ranks with Big Show and JBL as a Grand Slam Champion.

Unofficially, at least.

You see, Ziggle here has quite the interesting lineup of championship wins that somehow contrive to mean he isn't a Grand Slam winner. Believe it or not, Ziggler has already been a tag team champion. Remember the Spirit Squad? That's right, they were tag team champions back when Raw had the World Tag Team Championships - which for some reason aren't eligible. Apparently, to qualify for the modern Grand Slam Championship, the current Raw or SmackDown Tag Team Championships must be obtained.

Well, he did that, so where's his celebratory cake?

Perhaps it's because his world championship victory was only ever the World Heavyweight Championship, and WWE now classifies the two world championships as the "only" world championships? Although that doesn't really make sense, considering the WWE Championship took on the lineage of the big gold belt... right?

It's a very odd and flawed system, but if WWE never comments on the achievement themselves, we here at WhatCulture will always know that Dolph Ziggler is a Grand Slam Champion now in spirit.

Or, who knows, maybe he'll be the man to dethrone Roman and make his achievement official?
