Dusty Rhodes Tributes From WWE NXT In Pittsburgh

Samoa Joe also worked his first WWE NXT live event.

The WWE NXT roster was in Pittsburgh for a live event last night and there were plenty of tributes for the late Dusty Rhodes, who was a coach for all of the NXT talent. There loud chants of "Thank you Dusty" from the fans all night long. William Regal started the show by asking for a ten bell salute in tribute to Dusty. Triple H wasn't at the event because he's at Tough Enough tryouts in Florida, but he shared this tweet with the crowd chanting for Dusty. https://twitter.com/TripleH/status/609153211216347136 There were at least two instances where wrestlers did Dusty style bionic elbows with Bull Dempsey hitting one on Jason Jordan and then Becky Lynch doing the elbow in a match against Sasha Banks. Enzo Amore also mentioned Dusty's famous "hard times" phrase during a promo as well. Seven matches took place on the show and the main event was noteworthy because Samoa Joe worked his first WWE NXT live event. The main saw Kevin Owens defending the NXT Title against Joe, Finn Balor and Tyler Breeze. During the match, Owens actually did John Cena's "you can't see me" hand gesture before connecting with the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Balor. It was an exciting match where everybody hit finishing moves until Owens got the win on Breeze with a Popup Powerbomb. https://twitter.com/WWENXT/status/609193613797494785 There are NXT live events tonight in Cleveland tonight and Columbus on Saturday, which is also where Money in the Bank takes place on Sunday. There will likely be some more Dusty Rhodes tributes at those shows as well.
