Finn Bálor To Face Shinsuke Nakamura On WWE SmackDown

Finn Balor Shinsuke Nakamura SmackDown

Intercontinental champion Finn Bálor will come face-to-face (or possible face-to-knee) with Shinsuke Nakamura in a non-title match on this week's episode of SmackDown, as the show kicks up a gear in advance of next Sunday's Extreme Rules.

The King of Strong Style made clear his designs on Bálor's IC title a fortnight ago, and it seems an inevitably the pair will clash in some configuration come next week's pay-per-view.

Elsewhere on Tuesday's show, we'll learn the identity of the man who clandestinely responded to Aleister Black's spooky challenge - someone said to be fighting him "on a spiritual level", whatever the means.

After failing to earn a place in Extreme Rules' tag-team title match, Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler will settle their current differences. Ziggler 'accidentally' superkicked KO to prevent the pair's opportunity at doubles glory.

In the end, that chance went to Heavy Machinery. They and the New Day pair of Big E and Xavier Woods will meet up with SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan & Rowan in a summit ahead of their big tussle next Sunday.

This weeks SmackDown takes place from Manchester, NH's SNHU Arena.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
