With Money in the Bank just over a month away, WWE held its first qualifying matches for the men's ladder match Monday night on Raw.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Ricochet won their respective matches against Bronson Reed and the Miz, stamping their tickets for the July 1 PLE in London, giving them a shot at capturing the briefcase that guarantees them a world title match at the date, time and location of their choosing.

Ricochet beat Miz in an energetic, competitive match that saw the Awesome One pull a few aerial moves out of the closet, but it wasn't enough. As for Nakamura, he had to survive the much bigger Reed, who dominated large parts of their match, only to finally be felled after Shinsuke chopped him down with a series of strikes, including two Kinshasas.

Whichever male wrestler wins the briefcase this year, they certainly have to be hoping to avoid the same fate as the 2022 winner, Austin Theory, who lost his cash-in for the United States Championship after Bobby Lashley attacked him outside the ring.

WWE will continue holding qualifying matches on Raw and SmackDown throughout the month for both men's and women's matches. They also announced the two women's qualifiers scheduled for next week's Raw: Natalya versus Zoey Stark and Becky Lynch versus Sonya Deville.
