Yet another former WWE Women's Champion was confirmed for October's all-female Evolution pay-per-view at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 last night.

Prior to the audience being treated to the news that Hall of Famer and seven-time WWE Women's Champion Trish Stratus is set to wrestle Alexa Bliss at the upcoming show, a graphic flashed up on the big screen likewise announcing that two-time Divas and two-time Women's champ Michelle McCool will also be on hand in Uniondale, NY.

Like Stratus, McCool last appeared for the company during a cameo in January's first ever female Royal Rumble, during which she went on an absolute tear, eliminating no fewer than five other entrants. For what it's worth, that's a women's Royal Rumble record!

Unlike Trish, there was no further details on who McCool, the wife of legendary WWE superstar The Undertaker, is set to face at the event. The Floridan hung up her boots seven years ago, after falling in a Loser Leaves WWE match against former tag partner Layla at Extreme Rules 2011.

In addition to Stratus and McCool, as well as the current roster of female performers, Evolution is set to feature Hall of Famers Lita and Beth Phoenix. It seems WWE is kicking up a gear in promoting the show, so check back for regular updates as they emerge.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
