Former UFC Fighter Training For Pro Wrestling Debut With ECW Vet

But will the WWE care?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMNFSkH1qbE Former UFC fighter Matt Riddle is known as a controversial fighter who once claimed smoking weed kept him from being the kind of guy who beat his family. He's also known for having two fight results in the UFC overturned after testing positive for marijuana metabolites. After being released from the UFC as a result (despite having a winning record and some entertaining bouts), and having Dana White publicly slam him, he wound up in Bellator, but never made it to the cage. Now retired from MMA, Riddle spoke to Dave Meltzer via MMAFighting.com and had the following to say about a pro wrestling run: "I€™m no longer 22, I don€™t care about tough man contests. This has been my goal my entire life. I looked in the mirror four months ago. I was tired of cutting weight, getting sick, I got the network for $9.99 and started reliving the Attitude Era and got that spark that I€™ve been missing since I was 20. I knew I could make money doing that. I saw the guys I grew up watching, I€™m watching the new guys and these guys aren€™t bigger than me, I€™m a little more ripped than they are, I€™m a cage fighter so I have skills, so maybe this is my shot to make it. If worst comes to worst, they say €˜No.€™ I€™m going to keep trying. I€™ve proven people wrong in the past." It seems as if there's more to this than just talk, however. Riddle is now training at the Monster Factory in New Jersey under Danny Cage and The Blue Meanie, news announced with a short video clip posted on Youtube. Will the WWE - or anyone else - care however? Riddle has a license for medical marijuana in Nevada, but would still be a serious wellness program violation risk. He was never a huge name in the UFC, though he had entertaining bouts and became known as something of a character later in his career. He's still young (in his twenties), but don't expect to see him in a major promotion any time soon.
