Former WWE World Champion Sheamus is rumoured to be returning at this weekend's Survivor Series PPV, according to reports in PWInsider.

The Celtic Warrior has been flown into the city of Chicago by WWE ahead of the show, and while there are no firm reports on what his involvement is likely to be, several outlets are speculating that it could be to make a long-awaited in-ring return.

Sheamus has been missing from WWE television since the post-WrestleMania 35 episode of SmackDown where he reportedly suffered a concussion in his match against The New Day. He has also reportedly suffered spinal stenosis, which is a condition whereby a trapped nerve in the spinal cord causes numbness and pain.

He was reportedly cleared for a return by WWE doctors back in September, and speaking on the Edge and Christian Podcast in July, he said; "I don't really know what the crack is. I'm still waiting. I'm just, again, enjoying my time. Like, it's very hard for me to sit at home all the time, but I'm trying to stay in the best shape I possibly can".

In his time away from the company Sheamus has been involved in several movie projects, launched his own fitness YouTube channel, and worked for Irish betting agency Paddy Power as part of their Rugby World Cup coverage.
