FOX Take Huge Shot At AEW During WWE Survivor Series 2019

The @WWEonFOX account threw shade during Mysterio vs. Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar and Rey Mysterio contested the WWE Championship at last night's Survivor Series 2019 pay-per-view, with 'The Beast Incarnate' besting his smaller opponent in under seven minutes.

This was in spite of interference from Rey's son, Dominic, who hit the ring with a white towel, almost throwing it on on his father's behalf. The typically spicy @WWEonFOX Twitter account was quick to react to this, tweeting the following:-

This looks very much like a shot at AEW, whose Full Gear pay-per-view saw a match between Cody and Chris Jericho stopped when MJF threw in the towel for 'The American Nightmare', leading to a post-match heel turn.

It is the latest in a long line of barbs thrown back and forth from company to company, though it's currently unclear whether the @WWEonFOX account is run by the promotion or the television network.

Rey and Dominic attacked Brock after the towel spot, using chairs, a steel pipe, and tandem offense for believable hope spots, with the younger Mysterio even hitting a 619 at one point. It wasn't to be, though. Rey was felled after Dominic ate a German Suplex, and that was that.
